NEWS BREAK... It is 6:05 Sunday p.m. ~ Al just checked our snow gauge... Total is over 16 inches and still snowing. New forecast more snow . YIKES!
Last night Al stood outside for about 1/2 hour in the snow fall and took pictures of our house (on the right) and our neighbors house (on the left). We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a glorious and Happy New Year.

.

Well, here is our yard stick. I'm so glad Al stuck it in the yard a few days ago.

Here we go, PROOF of our snow depth! We're heading towards a foot of snow...

Walked out to check on our yard stick which was stuck into the ground in the back ~~~ here is the picture of my foot crunches to get there... Yikes.

My, oh my, this is really getting cold....

This is just a sampling of the 1/4"- 1/2" ice from the freezing rain...

Our neighbors house "up to the rooftop" it's all snowed over... Now how is Santa going to get down their chimney?

For those that have seen our little place before, this is the Redwood Tree Stump that I use for my flower pots. Almost 'lost' under our snow storm.

THIS IS AN ADDITIONAL LATE AND BREAKING ENTRY AFTER I ORIGINALLY POSTED PICTURES PAST THIS SHORT BLURP.. IT WAS TOO EXCITING TO WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW ~ NOT THAT MANY PEOPLE WOULD BE UP AND CHECKING AT THIS TIME AT NIGHT.. HOPE EVERYONE IS WARM, SAFE, HEALTHY AND HAPPY.
This is a picture we took today. At 4:00 this afternoon, the depth of snow in our backyard was 6 1/2 inches....but at 7:45 tonight we went to the backyard to check our yardstick that we stuck in the snow and we now have 11 inches of snow. It is too dark now, can't take a picture so will have to so that tomorrow when there is light.. This storm is a DOOZIE. ~ More tomorrow.

WELCOME TO OUR WINTER WONDERLAND

WE TOOK THESE PICTURES TODAY ON HWY. 506 ~ WAITING FOR THE EXTREME WEATHER TO ARRIVE. IT WAS LIKE A 'WINTER WONDERLAND'~AND WAS AWESOME.

THE WHOLE 'WINTER WONDERLAND' PICTURES WERE TAKEN WITH MY DIGITAL CAMERA WHICH TAKES COLOR PICTURES, BUT THEY ALL CAME OUT LOOKING LIKE I TOOK THEM IN BLACK & WHITE....

Who remembers the Burma-Shave signs? There are a few right outside our town.

Hwy. 506 in Washington State.

The snow on the trees over the road were incredibly gorgeous~
Each different species of tree the different the snow design ~ It is beautiful.

Picture of our little house all covered with snow. Since these two house pictures were taken a few days ago we have received more snow to a total of 6 1/2 inches (see ruler placed in our backyard) and the "Severe Weather Storm" is still not here yet... Stay tuned....

Howard and Marilyn's house a few blocks north of us...

The picture below on left we are heading north thru town, and our town park is on the left ~ picture taken this morning. Picture on the right top (which was taken a few days ago) is our lake all frozen over...I can tell because of the blue sky!

Driving around town just a few hours ago....

Enjoying the falling snow in the crisp air.

Al and I ventured out to our front porch and watched the snow fall... For those that know our house, this is our front steps leading to the walkway and is's buried.... look closely and you can see the snow falling...

Looking south out our kitchen windows trying to see through the 'interesting designs" from the frozen condensation on the outside cold blocking plastic we put on for the winter months! Anything helps during the kind of temperatures we get.

This picture was taken earling a.m. about a week ago before the snow began to fall.

Tonight we are expecting a "major Snow Storm" to hit and if we get more snow I will post the results...

We are nice and cozy in our little bungalow and have enough wood for the rest of the winter....

Have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful and Happy New Year~

TRIP TO WOLF HAVEN, TENINO, WASHINGTON
Washington State has some wolves living in the North Cascades which is a much reduced number that use to roam here. The only animal that lives in our hills that howl at night are Coyotes.....and they do that quite often..

This is the sign at the front of Wolf Haven outside Tenino, Washington, please continue thru our Blog to check out this wonderful Wolf Haven.

Allan is quite the comedian.... anyone would know this is not a real wolf biting off his finger!!! Plus wolves don't wear Christmas wreaths around their necks... but the wolves we saw at Wolf Haven were quite unique and very interesting.

We were met just after we went through the main gate by this beautiful wolf.. They are such a gorgeous animals yet unfortunately they are not loved by all humans. Too bad we can't all just live together!
Please check out Wolf Haven's web page and consider sponsoring one of these courageous animals.

Look really close you'll see 2 white wolves...I kept waiting to see them closer up but they didn't budge...

Wish I would have gotten this guy's name.. Looks like a slacker if you ask me...(or maybe it was his Siesta time).

The wolves and coyotes live in outside round large wire cages in mating couples. Two to a cage. There are Gray Wolves, Red Wolves, Mexican Wolves and quite a few that I forgot. The number of wolves at Wolf Haven are many but only a small portion are on display...they seem to be the ones that enjoy being 'on stage' (so to speak) ...the others don't.

All kinds of Wolves... There was one couple on our tour with a 5 year old daughter, Rose. Rose's dad told me that she is bringing lots of money and will donating that to sponsor a Wolf. This is what she told her parents she wanted for Christmas...to sponsor a Wolf. Kinda Cool, huh?

The other kind of animals, besides wolves, that are 'living' at Wolf Haven are coyotes.

One of the other fun things at Wolf Haven are the Howl-Ins. These are in the Summer and on a Saturday night. There are places for RV's to dry camp and places for tents. At the Howl-In they somehow get the wolves and coyotes howling....and heard it was quite the harmony...

After touring all through Wolf Haven, our tummies started rumbling. We stopped at Scotty's 50's Style Diner in Tenino, Washington for a quick burger.

Now ~ this is a family hoping for a Santa that brought lots of Stocking Stuffers!!!

Another Allan Creation...
He loves to do these puzzles and he now has a 1,000 piece one to do.
