We came upon the Tacoma Narrows Bridge which has just been completely revamped and now is 2 different bridges both one-way leading from Tacoma to Gig Harbor.
This bridge is very famous as it use to be called "Galloping Gertie" as back in 1940 this was the 3rd largest suspension span in the world. Then on a fateful day on Nov. 7, 1940 just 4 months after it opened "Galloping Gertie" collapsed. It started rippling in a windstorm and check out the web page to see just how this happened.
