Enter into the World Famous Historical Underground under Pendleton, Oregon's streets. We followed a very knowledgeable tour guide through numerous tunnels, saw the Shamrock Card Room, Hop Sing's (Chinese Laundry), and the Chinese living quarters with jails and an opium den. We also walked by the the Empire Ice Cream Parlor and through more tunnels which lead us to the Empire Meat Market (see next picture). We also saw the Duck Pin Bowling Alley, the went through the secret passageway to the Prohibition Card Room.
We learned why the Chinese came here and how they helped build the West.
